Electric River Cargo Vessel

RX Marine has been awarded by French Ecofluv to building a Battery Hybrid River Cargo Vessel that operate on fully electric, zero emission.
French Ecofluv commissioned TRX with the construction of a pure electric propulsion, emission free, river cargo vessel.
The ship’s design is a collaboration between the French company Arco Marine, TRX Shipyard and Ecofluv.  The innovative vessel is the first of its kind. Powered by batteries and a compact intelligent electric propulsion system manufactured by Transfluid, the vessel  navigates without emissions into the atmosphere. Transfluid’s systems provides the power for vessel propulsion and cargo handling operations. The vessel is equipped with modern equipment for a wide range of operations. The ship runs on only battery power without the diesel generators operating. In addition to the main battery system that operates the thrusters and the on-board services and auxiliary systems, there are solar panels for recharging.
The boat runs efficiently and quietly in electric mode and, in case of an emergency, can switch quickly to operate with the diesel generators. When required the Lithium batteries can be charged from shore power. Transfluid’s fully integrated turnkey solution uses a power management system that communicates with all components via a CAN Bus protocol.
The batteries, electric motors and drives are certified with DNV “Type Approval”.

About Electric propulsion system

Transfluid’s supply is comprised of two 75 kW @ 1500 rpm electric azimuth thrusters, double hydraulic power units for the wheelhouse, two independent 163kWh battery banks, two independent 44kW DC/AC converters, a bow thruster and six battery chargers for recharging on the dock and during navigation. Two 45 kW diesel generators are used for emergencies or during navigation or to recharge the batteries if shore power is not available.
The complete scope of supply includes all signal  and main power cables.
The system is completed by displays, throttles for controlling the azimuth thrusters and engines, ignition keys and all require electrical boxes.
